Who wouldn’t want to have a cool room? The type that blows people’s minds as they enter the door. All of those little things that are just considered awesome by everybody.

Almost all seniors in high school fantasize about the wonderland that they want to turn their dorm room into. And many times, girls can go crazy with pictures on the wall (floor to ceiling), cutouts, ribbons, streamers, and all types of fuzzy bright stuff that screams “girl”.

But what about the countless young men who can’t think of anything but posters of girls and cars on the wall? Don’t worry, we got you covered!

Cool collections

Collections always look sweet. Got a lot of hats? Grab some wall hooks and stick em up.

Collect old vinyl records/covers, cool artwork, shoes or model cars/airplanes?

Almost ANYTHING looks good in mass quantity. I have even seen a collection of cereal boxes that looked rather impressive.

Sports are a guys best friend

Pretty much all guys like sports. Feel free to show it off!

Sports memorabilia is great because it shows pride and loyalty, but also adds to your room’s personality.

Depending on your budget, there are plenty of things to buy. Pictures of your favorite athletes and sports stars look nice and could be put in standard frames for a low price.

If you have the dough for it, autographed pictures are even better; hit up Ebay for some hot items that you may be able to get at a discounted price. Other cool options are jerseys, gloves, cutouts, mini-helmets, bats, or balls. The range of sports items is incredible.

Bottles…. with a twist

This is a sweet idea I saw in a friend’s room. A collection of similar empty bottles looks sweet. But you can amp this up and make it 100x cooler!

Fill bottles with water, then cut off the tips of highlighters of different color, and drop them in and shake. Let the tips sit for about a week. In the dark, under a black light, the water glows the color of the highlighter! Blacklights can be found pretty inexpensively at many stores on college campuses. Try any type of party store if you can’t find one on campus.

Show me the light

Lighting is always fun as well. String blue lights around your walls, or get small LED lights that can stick onto surfaces to make cool patterns. The ceiling is fair game to decorate as well, definitely don’t forget about it.

And of course, think of whatever you can for holidays. Don’t be afraid to experiment and try different things, just have fun with it!
