Spring Break Dos and Don’ts: 5 Tips to Remember This Spring Break

One of the most anticipated vacations of the season is here: spring break!

As the ultimate vacation for college students, spring break provides a time for students to relax and get away from the pressures of being a student. With a whole week, or longer if you’re lucky, to wreak havoc in all of the famous vacations spots, you’ll need a few tips to ensure you have the best vacation possible. Plus, if you’ve been saving up for this trip for a while, you’ll want to think about how you could add a little touch of luxury to your trip, whether that’s through your accommodation, chartering a private jet flight through somewhere like Jettly, eating in fine dining establishments, or paying for the VIP treatment in bars and clubs. You’ve worked hard, so now is the time to play hard.

If you’re going away for spring break, make sure you know the dos and don’ts of what to do (and what NOT to do) while on your week long vacation.

Do: Be safe

If you’re going out of the country or even driving, make sure everything you check everything before leaving; this means locking up your apartment or dorm, car and then dealing with the most important thing: yourself!

If you’re going to a place you’ve never been before make sure that you have a decent amount of people around you and don’t get lost, especially if you’re going to drink. Although these vacation spots are exotic and fun, they can also be dangerous.

Always have your cell phone on you at all times with all of your travel buddies’ numbers saved. Make sure your friends know where you are at all times and vice versa. Check in with your parents frequently so they are aware of what you are doing and who you are with.

Don’t: Do anything illegal

Have fun, but limit that fun and make sure it’s legal. Keep yourself out of trouble; the last thing you need is to be arrested in an unfamiliar place. Calling your parents to come bail you out of jail is not the spring break story that anybody wants.

Do not break things or act like a drunken idiot in public; this goes for public urination, stealing things like signs, or even swearing or acting disorderly.

Behave yourself both in public, on the beach and in the hotel and you will have nothing to worry about.

Do: Pack just the essentials

Don’t forget anything! It would completely suck to go all the way out to your destination and realize you forgot your, wallet, ID or etc, but at the same time, don’t overpack either.

The last thing you need to do is pay extra for an oversized suitcase or not be able to fit any souvenirs in your bag because you packed too many shoes.

Plan accordingly and make sure you have everything so your trip can be great and worry free. Make sure you have your passport up -to-date before heading out on vacation and that all of your documents check out.

Don’t: Drink TOO much

Having fun is a good idea, but in moderation. You want to be able to look at pictures of the trip later and say “Man, that was fun!” and not “When did that happen?”

Always drink water throughout the day and eat at regularly schedule times; do not drink all day on an empty stomach in the hot sun. If you do, you are only asking to become dehydrated, tired and possibly sick.

Do Have Fun:

Have an amazing time! Make memories, meet new people, buy some impractical gifts. You only get one college experience so live it up!

Have fun and be safe this spring break.
