It’s pretty simple. Free online flashcards. StudyBlue is a pretty cool service that seems to be helping students study all over the nation. We dig their operation and want to show some support. A better educated world is a better world.

Students continue to make studying mobile and social, according to new data from StudyBlue.

More than 1 million online flashcards are created every week on StudyBlue, and that number nearly doubles during peak exam times. Mobile flashcard creation on the free StudyBlue iPhone and Android apps is part of what’s driving this shift toward mobile studying, with 20 percent of all new flashcards on StudyBlue created on mobile devices. In addition to developing flashcards, students utilize StudyBlue to connect with and learn from their peers. Altogether, 1 million StudyBlue users have created more than 40 million definitions of ideas that are public and accessible to all.

“Flip,” a new video from StudyBlue, explores why flashcards have proven to be such effective study tools for students:

StudyBlue, which reached 1 million users in December 2011, is working on several new features for release in the near future that will expand students’ ability to connect with each other through content.
